Seeking Feedback on Mobile Widgets

I recently helped my wife pickout a new mobile handset, a Samsung SGH-X700. While I see a fairly reasonable range of Java games, we haven’t tried any of those. But I was encouraging my wife to download the GMail applet. Have any of you used that on an Indian GPRS network? Also do you have any experience with Flurry? It’s both an email application as well as a RSS newsreader. It has nice reviews. I am the house technician with a spotty record and don’t want to sully it further.

I was in hyderabad as recently as last Dec. I have a HTC Wizard (i-mate k-jam). I used airtel gprs data service. I had no issues with Gmail applet on my mobile. it worked just great. Airtel GPRS connection speeds on my mobile were mostly at a decent @110 kbps range, very consistently.

Why this blog?

The software industry is going through a seismic shift. This change goes by many names: On-Demand, Web 2.0, SaaS, etc. But they all point to the same conclusion - the era of the traditional software “load, update, and upgrade” model is ending. And, at this stage of industry evolution, it’s not so much about seeing what’s next; it’s mostly about making it happen. It’s about confronting legacy business models and dealing with innovators’ dilemmas. It’s about transformation and implementing orbit change. This blog is a conversation about all these issues.
