After an impressive period of incremental development, they suddenly stopped innovating. Their workshop shut down. No experiments. No drive to continue to improve upon their design. In their minds, they were &quot;Done&quot;. I think that this mindset lead to their demise. It was only a matter of time for someone to come along and improve upon their design. 

I think there are strong parallels we can make in the software industry. If development/innovation stops, a competitor will quickly blow past.

(And talk about jugaad innovation, they invented flight out of bicycle parts!)</description>
